President Ross called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m.
The Pledge was led by Marty.
Andy gave an invocation.
Herman J. led us in the Four Way Test.
For a song, we sang The Battle of New Orleans.
Visiting Rotarians: Assistant Governor Bob Rogers (Sebastopol Noon).
Guests of Rotarians: N/A.
Correspondence: Happy New Year greetings from Weinstein Security and the SRJC Foundation. Thank you letters from the 3rd graders at Forestville Elementary for their dictionaries.
Announcements: Forestville and Guerneville dictionaries have been delivered, just Monte Rio is left.
Happy Bucks: Hans gave $5 for having a good year in the mortgage business. Brendan gave $2 for two closed escrows at the end of the year. Herman J. gave a buck for his trip to Mexico. Jeff gave $10 for being able to visit his parents in Reno for his father's 90th birthday. Ed gave $5 for marshmallows with the family.
Fines: Herman J. was fined $5 for his birthday and anniversary back in December, he passed it on to Hans. He was fined another $5 for being front and center at the installation of the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors. Hans was also fined another $10 for remarking on Ross' "advanced age" at the Betty Spaghetti social. Ed and Brendan were both fined $5 for appearing in the latest Russian River Historical Society newsletter Yesterday & Yesteryear. Donna was fined $10 for appearing in the Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods newsletter. She then was nailed for a further $2 for interrupting the President!
Raffle: Ed had the winning ticket, but drew a 10 of diamonds.
Program: (Club Assembly) Donna put out the call for more speakers. We also need suggestions for restaurants for our monthly socials. The next one will be at Dick Blomster's on January 17th at 6:00 p.m.. Brendan reported on Youth Service. The dictionaries are out with the exception of Monte Rio School. Be ready to start reviewing scholarship applications after the Crab Feed is behind us. Jeff reported on Membership. 4 new members this year so far. Remember to ask people to join us for a dinner so they can see what the club is like! Ross has received "thank you" letters from our grant recipients. We are planning a reception for the awardees sometime after the Crab Feed to have a social event and present their checks.
The bylaws committee will be meeting after the Crab Feed as well to make sure the bylaws are up to date and being followed properly.
Start thinking about next year's Service Above Self award winner. We should have them in mind by July so we can plan the presentation for Vocational Month in October.
Herman gave a Crab Feed update. The committee will be meeting at Mike DeProto's office on 1/7/15 at 5:05 p.m..
